George Romero, you truly have slid another ten notches on the awesome-o-meter. I went to Red box thinking that I could find something good to watch last night. I ended up getting “Diary of A Wimpy Kid” , “Date Night” (for the lady), and “Survival of The Dead”. Really, the point was to see “Survival..” but I thought Wimpy Kid would be a laugh.
Well, needless to say, SOTD was absolutely B Grade crap. Pacing was awful. More often than not, acting was awful (including horrible Irish accents on part of the some of the actors), the comedic bits were mostly borderline Looney Tunes rehashes, and the writing for the storyline actually made me slap my forward at one point. I’m pretty disappointed George. “Diary of The Dead”, the movie preceding this one, was pretty freakin’ awful too. I thought that maybe had some time to sit back and get some insight into his last work, and would make “Survival..” not so bad. I was wrong. But hey, Diary of a Wimpy Kid was freakin’ awesome, so please check that out when you get a chance.
